DEFENCE AND QUESTACON ANNOUNCE STEM EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP
Defence and Questacon, Australia’s National Science and Technology Centre, will launch a five-year, $18 million partnership to equip more than 1,500 educators with the confidence and skills to inspire Australia’s next generation of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) thinkers, problem solvers and innovators.
The partnership will deliver workshops across Australia, including for under-represented audiences such as students in lower socio-economic areas, regional and remote communities, women and First Nations Australians.
Hosted at RAAF Base Edinburgh near Adelaide, the launch will showcase Questacon’s ‘Engineering is Elementary’ workshops, which are designed to engage educators and students with hands-on, creative activities. It will also feature Defence STEM displays and provide an opportunity for participants to interact with the latest cutting-edge Defence technology.
