Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre will be opening its doors during Canberra’s cold winter nights.

Operating for its third year, Mid-Winter Nights is the ultimate family friendly activity these July school holidays. Questacon’s eight action-packed galleries will be open and the Centre will be bursting with glowing moon and space themed activities.

“Visitors will immerse themselves in Questacon’s after-hours winter spectacular. Visitors can watch Spectacular Science Shows, be amazed by glowing circus performers, enjoy flashing fairy floss and dine in a glowing food court!,” said Tristan Hoffmeister, Senior Manager Centre, Retail, Tourism and Digital Engagement.

“Visitors can take part in a variety of craft activities including creating a rocket or designing a nebula jar to take home,” added Mr Hoffmeister.

The outdoor food court will warm visitors during the wintery celebration with tasty food and drink options from local Canberra vendors.

“We’re delighted to have a variety of local vendors to provide our visitors with great food and drink options to help keep them warm. Our vendors include La Empanada, Wandering Wood Fire Oven, Le Petit Breton, Loose Gourmet Churros and many more,” said Mr Hoffmeister.

Mid-Winter Nights will run from 10–13 July, with each night kicking off at 5.30 pm.

Tickets to Mid-Winter Nights are available on the Questacon website.

Visitors are encouraged to purchase their tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
