LEDusa was created to celebrate Questacon’s 30-year anniversary. Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove officially launched LEDusa in 2018.
If you stop halfway up the ramp, you can change the colour combinations by hovering your hands over sensors. With red, green and blue – you can make any colour imaginable!

LEDs are incredibly efficient light sources. An LED is a tiny semiconductor that transforms the energy from individual electrons into photons of light.
In contrast, incandescent light bulbs work by heating a tiny metal filament until it glows. Most of the energy is lost as heat instead of light. This is a huge waste of energy.
